Operation Homefront is a non-profit organization that provides
emergency financial assistance to the families of our service
members and wounded warriors. Through a generous contribution
from Home Depot, Operation Homefront is now able to offer
significantly more assistance to Wounded Warriors in need of
home repairs, modifications, or appliances.

Rules Liberalized for Veterans with Undiagnosed Illness
Application Window Extended for FIVE
YEARS
WASHINGTON – Veterans of the Persian Gulf War with
undiagnosed illnesses have an additional five years to qualify
for benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. “Not
all the wounds of war are fully understood,” said Secretary of
Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki. “When there is uncertainty
about the connection between a medical problem and military
service, Veterans are entitled to the benefit of the doubt.”

National commander “profoundly
disappointed” by impasse, concerned about national security
consequences.
WASHINGTON (November 21, 2011) -- American Legion
National Commander Fang A. Wong says he is “profoundly
disappointed” that the bipartisan Joint Select Committee on
Deficit Reduction (the so-called “supercommittee) failed to
reach an agreement to cut $1.2 trillion from the federal budget
over the next decade.

They were challenged from the beginning to demonstrate
creativity, leadership and innovation. They are the 52 members
of The American Legion College class of 2011, among them, Cindy
R. Loraas, a member of American Legion Post 32 in Papillion,

Lincoln Baseball Player selected as the Nebraska American Legion
Player of the Year
Trevon
D. McGill of Lincoln has been selected as the 2011 Nebraska American
Legion Player of the Year. Each year thousands of America’s youth
participate in American Legion Baseball across the State. This year
Trevon D. McGill of Lincoln Pius X was selected above all others as the
Nebraska American Legion Baseball Player of the Year. Trevon has shown
extensive support to baseball, education and to his community. Selected
as the Class B All-State Honorary Captain,, Academic All-State and
National Honor Society, Trevon also volunteers as an assistant baseball
coach for youth baseball.
